Sense of smell is associated with memory storage and to facilitate this, you can start with two very simple exercises:

Odour-sensory exercises

Take a piece of paper and write at least 10 different scents / smells around you (the smell of wood from a chair, sweat from a human, the heat from a radiator) and write your related feelings and associations.

Write down how many smells you can discover over for 5 minutes.
 

The ability to be alive, to understand whether we are present in the moment, if our behavior is flexible and open to the situations and experiences that we encounter, may be examined with the following exercise:

Behaviour exercise

Dedicate a period of 14 days and write daily in your book the reactions and actions where you find your behavior patterns to be mechanical, eg.:

  • I was angry every time I ...
  • I was afraid every time I ...
  • I got headaches every time I ...
  • I became restless whenever I ...
  • I was always too tired to concentrate every time I ...
    Etc..

The exercises you have so far seen are not exercises to solve problems, but to clarify them. Awareness of behavior comes before change.

Examples of imbalance in the first Chakra can also include a behavior like fear and the escape mechanism. Due to the inner fear that may have numerous causes, the pressure can be so hard that you can not stand your own company. One is constantly on the run, has always the radio on for not being confronted with your own thoughts, watching TV and reading the newspaper simultaneously, switching topics, and can not hold a conversation, or can not be alone.
